Meet Rocky! Rocky is a 8 year old Jack Russle who is looking for a special kind of home. Rocky enjoys going on adventures in new spaces and he LOVEs playing with his toys (especially if theyre squeaky)! In a home environment Rocky will need a family who will give him firm boundaries to help him to succeed. He can not go onto furniture as he can become fearful/worried about being disturbed when resting/sleeping. During his stay with us he has been practising keeping all 4 paws on the floor and he is doing really well, however, it will be really important that his future family is onboard with this. He does have a history of being sensitive to touch (when it is not on his terms) and he is under behaviourist care for this. As part of the rehoming process, adopters will have the oppertunity to discuss this in more detail with the external animal behaviourist who is overseeing his care. Rocky is a very affectionate boy and he loves tickles along his back once he gets to know you. He has affectionatley developed the nickname 'Rockstar' here at the centre, as he loves his training and picks up new things super quickly. Rocky has unfortunately had two previously failled adoptions, so it is important that his next home is the right one! In his previous homes Rocky was very good with his toilet training. Rocky does have some skin allergies and is on medication for these. He will need a home free of other pets, and adults of 18+ only. Rocky can be reactive towards other dogs out on his walk but can be easily distracted with a treat! We are looking for a very specific kind of home for Rocky. Thanks to his previous two adoptions we now know more about him, so are confident that with new boundaries in place, we can set him up for success.
