Meet Monty!
Monty is a sweet-natured 8-year-old Cocker Spaniel who adores his walks and adventures. At first Monty can be nervous so he will need a home who is understanding and patient with him. He can be a little strong on the lead at first due to his excitement, but soon settles down and walks nicely. He is very food-motivated and responds well to positive reinforcement and training.
Monty is incredibly gentle and loving, but he does show signs of separation anxiety. Because of this, he’ll need an adopter who is home for most of the time and can offer him the patience and understanding he deserves as he adjusts to home life.
At the centre, Monty has been introduced to several other dogs and has done brilliantly. He tends to be calm and relaxed, often more interested in sniffing around, but he gets along well with others. Monty is also affectionate with people and loves a cuddle.
He would do well in a home with children aged 10 or older who understand that Monty will need his own space and quiet time. He can live with another calm and relaxed dog, but this is not not rehoming criteria and would be fine being the only dog. Monty would need someone who is home most of the time to keep him company. Due to the nature of kennels, we can not say if Monty is house trained or not.
