We are recruiting for two maternity cover roles, an  Animal Care Assistant (15 hours a fortnight) and and an Animal Care Support Specialist (reception cover) (18.75 hours a week)

Animal Care Assistant (maternity cover 12 months)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Animal Care Assistant (Maternity Cover) to work within our busy animal centre rehabilitating and rehoming animals.   This post will be appointed on a fixed term contract for 12 months and the postholder will be expected to work alternate weekends 15 hours a fortnight and the salary is £4,461.60 per annum from 1st April 2024.  

 

The successful candidate will be expected to provide care for animals in the centre and support for those animals in foster care, establish good customer, supporter and volunteer relations, ensure administrative procedures are maintained.

 

Animal handling particularly in dog training and behaviour along with experience of working within an animal care/animal welfare environment is preffered.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Animal Care Support Assistant (Maternity Cover) to work within the reception of our busy animal centre supporting the animal care assistantsbwith the rehabilitating and rehoming of animals.  This post will be appointed on a fixed term contract for 12 months and the postholder will be expected to work Monday to Wednesday 18.75 hours a week and the salary is £11,154.00 per annum from 1st April 2024.  

 

The successful candidate will Act as the first point of contact for the general public, supporters and volunteers contacting the animal centre and ensuring the RSPCA Lancashire East Branch is portrayed as professional, caring and informative in response to all enquiries.

 

Provide excellent customer service, whether face-to-face, by telephone or by responding to emails in a professional and timely manner.
