Meet our wonderful girl Missy! She is a 6 year old crossbreed and she is looking for a special kind of home... Missy has had a very difficult start to life and she is only just starting to trust people. It can take her a long time to form bonds with new people, however, once a bond has been formed it will be very stong. She is a very very affectionate girl and loves nothing more than to cuddle on a sofa and relax. She thrives in the company of small dogs, however, she can be unsure of larger breeds when they try to play. For this reason she can be rehomed with another dog of Terrier size or smaller. In the kennel environment Missy is only just starting to show her playful side which can be quite bouncy, for this reason she will need an adult only home as we hope she will come out of her shell more once shes in her own home. Missy does have poor hearing so she is learning sign language, her future family will need to continue with this. She can also be startled easily so a patient and quiet/calm home will be needed. We do not think Missy has ever had a real 'home' as she can become very worried about door ways, again, a patient home will be needed for her. Out on her walks Missy walks lovely on lead and shows no reactivity towards other dogs. She enjoys exploring new places with people she trusts, however, easily becomes overwhelmed if there are too many strangers around. A home with quiet walking routes would suit her best. Overall, a quiet and patient home would be amazing for her! Ongoing behavioural support from the team at the centre can be provided upon adoption. Missy does have some medical issues than can be discussed further upon application. Due to the nature of kennels we can not say if Missy is house trained or not. We hope that this lovely girl will grow in confidence and really come out of her shell in a home environment where she can spend a lot of time with someone she will grow to trust. All she needs is someone to give her a chance!
