Nicola tackles the 3 peaks in 24 hours!

One of our newest volunteers is attempting one of the hardest fundraising events in Britain for Altham animal centre! Nicola Helme is going to start the challenge this Sunday at 6am at the foot of Ben Nevis in Scotland.

She then has 24hours to climb and descend the 4,406 feet of Ben Nevis, travel south to the Lake District, where she must climb and descend all 3,206 feet of Scafell Pike, before then heading to Wales and climbing Mount Snowdon... all before 6am on Monday 6th August!

This is quite an extraordinary challenge, but Nicola is definately up for the contest! She said "I'm raising money for the RSPCA - Lancs East Branch by doing the National 3 Peaks Challenge. The challenge involves climbing the highest peak in Scotland, England and Wales within 24 hours! Completing each of these peaks is no small task in its self, but completing them within a 24 hour window adds the problem of logisitics, a much harder physical challenge and an element of sleep deprivation. My original target was £150.00 but now I’m just going for as much as possible to give me the motivation to work even harder towards completing this amazing challenge!"

Please click here to sponsor Nicola. We all wish her the very best of luck with the national 3 Peaks challenge, widely known as one of the most challenging fundraising events in the country! We will report on Nicolas progress as soon as we hear from her early next week.

Please give Nicola your support!
